Low Voltage

I notice when i have both ac running it sounds like the fans are slowing down and then speeding up like a surging. The surge guard showed low voltage around 90 to 100 volts and had an alert on the xantrex screen said high voltage on line 1. Could this be due to the surge guard in the basement going bad? Your help would be appreciated.

The fans changing speed and your voltage readings could be from a lose/bad connection.

Feel you shore power plug, if its hot, you found the problem.

If you are on shore power, I would use a meter and check the campground power at the post. Many campgrounds system can not handle the demands of today's big rigs.

On a side note, your surge gard is not doing you any favors. With voltages that low, it should shutdown breaking the connection. Any thing below 107vac places a strain on your air conditioners.

Could be poor power at the campground then. What happens when you go on your generator?

The surge guard should of shut off the power when it got down to 103 VAC to protect your equipment.

You must be frying a few ants inside plug power shorting to ground cutting down power to coach, one AC may work but should have CG look at that outlet.

cleaned out all the aunts where you plug into shore power but it did not help any. voltage still dropping to 90 volts. if we unplug the shore power and turn on the gen then all power is good and no dropping in voltage.

Notify the park of the voltage problem. The problem is at your site not with your motorhome.
