Main entrance Door "pops"

We would be driving along as nice as you please then the door pops open. It really can't open much because of the dead bolt is and we are going 60 mph. It scares the Bajingus out of both of us. I have cleaned all the accumulated residue from the claw. Is there some adjustment to be done ?

ps. where can I get a new handle for the screen door ?

Thanks

Chris

My friend has an 06 Tiffen that uses the same screen door latch, so it must be available thru Tiffen.

Contact PTL the maker of the door and screen door. Welcome to the Official Site of PTL Engineering

Check the bolts that hold the door hinges to the door frame for tightness. Sometime they have a tendency to loosen. Try closing the door slowly and check for spring back at any point prior to latching. The door should close with no resistance and very little resistance when latching. It also could be the latching mechanism has loosened and slipped.

CC:

There are a couple threads on the popping-open issue and several on the screen door handle.

The first can be adjusted at the post, the second has been found at most RV supply places, including Camping World (apparently a common part). PTL has also supplied is to many members, as well as other parts (like my black door handle).
