Map Lights

On my 1999 36 ft MDS the 2 map lights located on the bottom of the over head cabinets over the dash won't light. The book shows a 3 way rocker switch next to the head light control that should operate the map lights in one direction and the 2 ceiling lights over the front seats in the other direction.Well the switch I have is only for the ceiling lights on/off.I think maybe the map lights are controlled by the dash light adjustment wheel similar to a lot off cars, but when rotated till it clicks ,the map lights don't work.Maybe it's broken or maybe there is a fuse for those map lights, if so where would I look for that fuse.

Thank You for any input you may have for this issue

The map lights in my Safari coach are turned on by rotating the "headlight switch knob" fully to the left.

Appears as though I have a windshield leak in that area that may be allowing water on those sockets. My lights didn't work when I bought it but several days later after driving it one worked by rotating the panel knob so it clicks. Check your connections and bulbs
My overhead light switch does nothing also
Do you have a small red toggle switch near your electric mirror adjustment switch? Any idea what that is? Was thinking mirror heat but either it doesn't work or I'm wrong

Map Lights

Hi, I still haven't been able to get the lights to work, my headlight switch will not turn them on.Not a big deal just won't use them until I come across someone at a RV meet that has the same couch. As to the oil change I've only had 1 service done at Cummins in Fresno Ca. just before my first trip, I bought this rig from a dealer and had everything serviced before a trip to Rocky Point Mexico 2 years ago.Total miles I've put on it since buying it is about 4k had some medical issues and have not used it since last July 4th weekend, but the oil still looks good.Have used maybe 3 qts of oil total wait till the low mark and add 1 gallon. The red switch next to the mirror switch is for heated mirrors, never have used mine, not sure if it works.

Hope this helps out, my rig only had 57k when I bought it.
Best of luck with yours
Ramblinpete.

3 quarts of oil in only 4k miles seems excessive.
(My now 150k mile 3126 Cat powered coach has never used more than 1 quart every 5k miles).

I'm probably wrong on the 3 qts more like 1and 1/2 qts after checking it again.Did pull some steep grades on that trip to Mexico and a couple of other trips closer to home but still mountains along the way.
