Has any one replaced their microwave in the coach? I AM WONDERING HOW HARD IT IS. No one will service Sharp ovens in South FL so I was thinking of replacing it with another brand. When I inquired about install they recommended I have an RV dealer do it.

Go to N Florida. They are capable of lifting the microwave.

I pulled mine out to check a problem in my 2002. It was mounted like all of the house units I have seen with the addition of two sheet metal screws in the bottom of the wall mount plate. These were easily gotten to from under the unit.

Dale I do not know how to send message to one person so I will do it here. Is there a way to call you with alittle more info such as step 1 or you could even post it here if you like someone else may run into the same problem. I think I know the screws you are refering to as I have looked at it over and over trying to get up the nerve to try it. To TedIII do you know of someone in picticular? North FL a little vague.

In reference to N. Florida I thought the folks might be a bit younger and could handle the microwave easier.
Actual removal is just take the screws out in front, unplug from the A/C outlet and pull it out. It quite frankly is that simple. It is very easy.

I partly agree with Ted. Having replaced my microwave at home, they are easy to remove, It is only a couple of screws and sliding it off of a bracket. A little heavy/bulky, but easily done.

Where I might disagree a little bit is you said you will be replacing it with a different model. Chances are it come with a different bracket, requiring remounting changes. Depending on how handy you are, that might involve some work. Personally, I would not pay somebody to do it. (I am cheap!) I would do it myself.

If you search the existing microwave model number online, you can probably find the installation manual for it, and it will show the screws and type of bracket. And how to remove it, or at least how to install it so that you can work backwards.

HF, I really was not thinking of the new replacement. I did replace a couple in 2 of my boats and I researched them until I found a same dimensional match or smaller. I find it a lot easier to add trim and filler strips or whatever than to start cutting to enlarge the existing opening.
