Motor for 630516.321 Roof AC
If you need a new fan motor for your 630516.321 model Dometic Roof AC. PM me. It is a bit embarrassing to explain how I ended up with an extra $200.00 fan motor, but am eager to get it out of the house.

Matt,
My front roof AC started making a ticking noise a couple months ago. The sound reminded me of a fan blade that was out of balance. On high fan speed it was pretty loud but on low speed was barely noticeable. I left the AC off for a month or so and went to turn it on recently.... now it won't work at all. Even if I just turn on the fan and no AC... nothing works. I was thinking it might be the fan motor but it's been too hot here in AZ to get up on the roof to check things out. Will you be at any of the upcoming SoCal Rallies? Can you bring the motor?

Hi Mike,
AC in, battery full and 3 of the voltage levels light up in a circle.
I haven't taken the time to sort this out yet. I've been removing the power cable at the battery when in storage.
That seems to work for now.
I am the original owner and there has not been any modifications or repairs to the electrical system.
I've been vary lucky to this point.

Dave, I sent you an email with details, but I thought I'd post to the IRV2 Forum that before zeroing on in the motor, to check the motor's mounting bolts and starting capacitor. If a motor is needed, double check the AC's serial number; the same motor does not fit all Dometic Ac's of the '05 era. Good Luck

David & Stilla, my ac started making the same ticking noise you described and also if you put the fan on high it raddles a lot worse. Did you figure out what the cause was? Thank you.

Have you inspected the exterior "squirrel cage" on the fan motor to make sure there is nothing stuck to the cage [creates imbalance][eg. mud daubers?]

Old Scout, I took the shroud off and cleaned the squirrel cage, wasnt much there and it still makes that noise. Guess its my turn to have A/C problems.

Did you watch it while the fan was running? In my case I could see it "bouncing around" and taping against the housing. Further checking indicated that the shaft bearings at motor appear to be worn.

David & Stilla. i shroud off one end of fan motor was down just enough for the squirrel cage to hit and make the noise. The fan bracket has four rubber grommets with bolts going through it that were loose and allowing the motor to drop enough to hit. Tried to tighten but wouldn't work cause it just turn the bolt inside the motor. So all i did was cut be a piece of board and lifted the motor a little and slid it under the motor and all is real quiet now.
