For those who have mounted their FMCA plaques in the indent spot on the rear of their Alpines, did you glue it or screw it in place? How did you deal with the engine door bracket that covers a part of the area?

Don't use double stick tape, especially as provided by Kiley Mold. It falls apart in less than a year. I'm not sure why they bother to include it in the shipment, except that I had to buy another set of goose eggs. Hmmm....

BRCA:

I found that with heat, the adhesive on Velcro (even industrial version) melts away and dribbles down. Hence the sticky stuff coming out from under my entry step carpets. It's hard to clean, too.

how long has your placque been mounted with the gorilla glue? how long did it take to dry/harden?

Glue, screw/bolt or option 3 for those with ladder; form some 3/4” W x 1/16” T aluminum bar into brackets and attach to ladder. Worked for me, was not willing to punch holes or apply glue to surface of coach.

Plastic tie wrap through hole of plaque and around side of ladder. If I have to climb the ladder and I can't step over it, I'll cut it off and reattach when I'm finished with what I'm doing on the roof. It's been on there a year now. Hmmm! Reminds me, UV rays, time to change the straps out.

I really don't like to have to remove silicon sealer from anything that I care about, no less Gorilla glue. I used a few pieces of mounting tape to attach mine and put a small bead of silicone sealer across the top and part way down the sides. It has been on for about a year now and is holding up fine, even in temps up to 115 degrees. The small bead of sealer won't be too bad to remove if I ever have to.

I drilled to small holes in the glass and put them through the plaque, the glass and a 1 X 2 behind. If I drop out of FMCA (not likely) I will put a different plaque in its place.

The Gorilla Glue was recommended for reattaching badging and trim on cars. It dried in about 3 hours. Still looks like it's not going anywhere, unless the whole door flies off. The glue itelf is actually on the WRV decal not the paint.

You can buy an attachment for the plaque to attach to the ladder, if you have a ladder. I bought mine at Quartzite but I think I saw a similar one at Camping World. My attachment allows the plate to come off easily with a couple clip-type pins.
