Can someone steer me in the right direction of a new muffler. I have a 98 ISC 8.3. Local shops don't have a clue so I thought I'd try on line. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might order one?

Look at the Aero-Turbine 4040L muffler w/resonator. Reduces backpressure , lasts a lot time because of its stainless steel construction, and isn't hard on the wallet. A bit noisier, but you can't tell the difference inside the motorhome.

There's lots of other places to buy them.

Find thd location of a Donaldson dealer here,, https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/W...r/locator.html
If you have the inlet and outlet dimensions along with sizes of the muffler body they probably match you up with the correct replacement.
Stainless steel in a diesel exhaust system is overkill.

Thanks for the Donaldson link. There are two locations that carry Donaldson mufflers and I just happen to know the regional service manager at one of the places. I'll contact him on Monday.

And I agree, SS is way overkill for my taste.

I bought an OEM Nelson muffler from Ryder Fleet Products last year. Exact fit and cost was $150.00.

Do you by any chance have the part number for the Nelson muffler? Funny thing......... I read this thread and said to myself........ this is something to change out this summer. Well, summer just came as, I almost lost the S.S tail pipe because it sheared off today on I-5.
Thanks
Dave

Yes, Jeff, they do.
And the prices are good too.

Example:
WRV wanted $280.00 plus shipping for the muffler.
Got it from Ryder for right on $150.00 to the door.

The price for a Leece-Neville alternator is good too.

Good hunting, Happy New Year and God bless us, everyone.......

Bob
