You're absolutely correct about the cabinets sticking out especially on a 34' or 36" model because of their narrow door & steps. However, some owners have installed MCD or AutoMotion blinds across the windshield. If you do, you'll need to leave a straight shot across the ceiling to enable mounting the shades. This action typically results in the TV cabinet sticking out somewhat even when employing an LED TV.

It's just a thought and you seem more than capable of planning & implementing what you want. Everything you've done so far sure looks great! I'm confident your cabinets will too. Good luck!

if you look at the second pic... it shows the back of the cabinet wall, which is staying, you will also notice it is a straight shot pillar to pillar..thats where the mcd will go... I already have the power from the visor... so good to go..

the 40'' tv will mount to the back cabinet wall...

here's what I started with...my ocd couldn't take it.... and every one I pointed it out to said... I would have never noticed that... but if you look... the cabinet doors on the left are arch top... the rest of the coach is square top,.... that and every thing on the ceiling is white... and they put black speakers

That's an incredible amount of work. I modified mine for a new TV and added a center visor because the monster tube tv acted as a visor. That was about all I wanted to do. Ours is still in pretty good shape so I don't have a lot of motivation. I am really interested in the ac mods. Mine is not that great and it's probably time to replace the front unit. Not sure I understand "aligned ducts", but I will look at it.

the duct work is not hooked together... they just kinda aim it toward each other and call it good... so far I have done this mod on 2 alpines with fantastic results..

just take the plastic shroud off and have a look see... you'll see exzact what I mean... one of the huge, and I mean huge problems is they don't have big enough air returns so It cuts way down on the air flow...living in the desert requires efficient AC...the stock set up is not even close...before the mod
I was @ high 80's in the summer heat... now it will hold 75

I also have a 34' 2004 Alpine and have done quite a few up-grades,I meet LVRVLUVR some time back and am lucky enough to live 10 min. away. When ever I run into a road block or need a fresh Idea i slip over for a cold one and learn how to up-grade or repair the way it should have been done from the get go.With any luck I hope to have our coach look as close as his as I know he will be a least 2 steps ahead but thats fine,he does the BRAIN work I copy and look like a Genius

well, got most of it done... ran into one snag after another..the speakers stick out too far for the cabinet doors to open... and they look like socks on a rooster.. so I ordered new flatter ones... and will paint the one on the cabinet to be more suttle

they do sound real good though

I first had in mind to just use upholstered box's... but didn't like the look... I had the doors and a bunch wood from the demo.... so I made new face frames and hung the doors..I centered the tv and made the face frames typical..

I also cleaned up all the wiring...

unbelievable the mess... reminded me of the first time I tried fishing with an open face reel

anyway.... every thing works..

my next thing is the windshield shade...power of corse...and I have no idea or where to get one...

Carefree power side visor is the term to put in search there. They are an expensive little gizmo. I was going to install 2 wider ones after changing out tv's but after seeing the price I installed a manual one in the middle.
