My local Camping World is trying to repair the battery compartment fire damage on my 2003 Alpine 40' FDTS. The compartment door and the handle / lock mechanism was damaged beyond repair. They're having a new door made but the handle / lock mechanism needs to be replaced.

Does anyone happen to know where Camping World or I can acquire a new handle?

Whatever information you can provide would be appreciated! I can be reached directly at bcbowers@q.com or Bob.Bowers@qwest.com.

I think it is a Southco product. You will have to identify which, then call Southco to find a dealer that will sell by the onesies-twosies cuz IIRC they don't sell retail.

It is a Southco C5 latch. If you search for Southco on this forum, you should find sources for it. A friend ordered a few of them from a source found on this forum, and gave me one. I also bought one through Acacia RV. (Their card is linked to the Alpine Socal website.

Try Northwest RV Supply in Eugene, Or Just there two weeks ago and they had a bin full of them. They specialize in RV surplus parts
