I am confused on figuring out the settings. On another chat room I got this advise but neverhear it before, is it correct.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"""Remember if it is a 6 volt battery, divide the rated amp hours in half times the total number of batteries in the bank for correct amp hour charging input."""

May need to call the in house Alpine expert for help? Can anyone help.

Yes, the amp-hours are based upon 6 volt usage. Any time you have 6 volt batteries in a 12 volt system they will be paired off in series to give you 12 volts. When you connect in series you double the volts but not the amps.

Therefore a 6 volt battery rated at 220 amp-hrs would be paired with another identical battery. The resulting output would be 12 volts at 220 amp-hrs for the pair.

Many RVs are set up with four 6 volt batteries. Each series pair is connected in parallel so the total output of all four 6 volt 220 A-H batteries is 440 amp-hrs at 12 volts.

If you had a number of 12 volt batteries they will be connected in parallel, not series. In that case you don't divide the total amp-hrs by 2.

John:

I believe your coach has six 6-volt batteries, or three pairs. That would be 220 AH x 3 = 660AH.

Just a note: I found that for some reason my charger works when set to 655 AH but not at 660 AH. The tech desk said they had no idea why, but that the 655 AH setup is perfectly fine.

The numbers are used to calculate the proper charging sequence/times/amps.
