takepride - we have a 38 fdds '03. The windshields have been replaced twice. The first time was 4 years ago. We had the crack and it was repaired in Yakima probably 3 years ago. I'm not sure if it was structural or not, but Mike got it done. It hasn't cracked since.

By the way, MAKE SURE THEY DO ONE WINDOW AT A TIME!! We had the second set of windows put in last summer at Duncan(Elkhart) and Todd took both out and then had problems on the passenger side.

If I remember correctly, Duncan said that the windows for our particular year are no longer made by the original manufacturer and the molds were sold. I do believe they told me they came from Pakistan - had they said any other country I would probably have believed it without question, but Pakistan?

When Todd did it, he glued in a molding instead of tooling the final fill around the windshield with a wet latex finger (at least that is what I have been told by another glass installer).

On the first installation, Duncan sent someone to the house (northern Nevada). They left the driver's side window open. When the afternoon winds came up, it puffed the passenger side out.

Be very careful of who may show up to to the "Duncan" work. The bozos that showed up here at the house won't do any work for me again - ever.

Thanks G'ville!

I'll make sure any glass replacements are one at a time. That's an easy mistake for an installer.

I'm hoping the fiberglass crack is only cosmetic and can just be temporarily filled until I get other touch-up work done. I suppose if it was structural, the stress would crack a windshield. I'm lucky so far.

I have the same crack above the windshield seperator bar. I do not believe it is structural, but only a surface crack. I've had it quite a while and just had one windshield replaced with no problems. There is steel angle iron that the windshield is actually glued to.
