Need Sliding Closet Door Latch

Does anyone have a replacement source for the sliding closet door latches? Not sure if these were all standard in the different models of Alpine Coaches, but I have the two mirror doors at the back of the coach (2005 38.6) and one of the latches broke. These latches mount on the exterior walls of the closet opening and are brown plastic. They have a lip that grabs the raised edge of the mirrored doors when shut and the tension/friction keeps the doors closed. Any help appreciated.

Before you install the new latch be sure to round off the square corners. This will keep you from a nasty gouge on your arm.

Wingtrike,
Thanks... I did a search on Amazon for BurglaBar and it looks like this is something that mounts in the middle of the two sliding doors and when half of the device is lowered, it blocks one side against the other... is this correct? If so, this would effectively replace the two outside standard latches. Is my assessment correct? Is this how you used the device?

BTW thanks to chawkins99 for the link to Camping World. Duh, I don't know why I didn't think to look there first. Again thanks, the link you sent looks like the exact replacement(s) I need if I don't try out that BurglaBar.

David,

If your latches are like mine which were simple plastic clip style latches mounted at each end of the mirrored doors, then those latches chawkins99 identified will work because I use them. However, there are 2 - sizes and I ordered the wrong ones first and had to reorder them. You probably need the wider of the 2- versions. Or, measure the thickness of the door edge and order appropriately.

Hi David and Stilla,

We met at Quartzsite last year!

I have bought latches similar to what chawkins99 linked to from both Camping World and Amazon. Some are a hard plastic and shatter if abused (not installed exactly in line with the door) and some are more flexible like a vinyl (and more forgiving if slightly off in the installation). I love the more flexible ones and use the clear ones as they go with any finish. I believe I got those at Camping World.

Cheers!
