Hello,
I picked up my "new" 1999 36FDS last weekend in Pheonix and drove it home to San Diego, via Prescott. I am very impressed. I was wondering what, if any, changes/improvements people have made to their older coaches. The first one that I have planned is to change out the older televisions to newer ones, both front and rear (I have read the post on the installation of the 32" and plan to do the same)
Any other suggestions/hints would be appreciated.

Hello & Welcome Charles:
Congratulations on the purchase of your New 1999 Alpine. Many of the Alpine owners have installed some updates including LCD Televisions. I would recommend that you attend an Alpine Coach Association or an Alpine So Cal Rally and check out everyone's upgrades first hand.

Welcome Charles.......Do a search... the "FIND" button at the top. Try Danny Gayhart as a topic, he did a beautiful job in replacing both his TV's. He even posted pictures. Enjoy your new Alpine and hope to see you at a So Cal Rally.

Welcome, Charles, to our Alpine family and to our section of the Forum. I don't have any helpful hints...just wanted to say "hello". Since you live in El Cajon, we hope to see you at an Alpine SoCal rally as soon as you get settled in. We have always have a great time at both our SoCal rallies and at the ACA (the national club) rallies. We have lots of great people in ACA that will be very happy to help you learn the ropes.
Check out the websites listed in Dave's note to learn more about both ACA and SoCal.
Again, welcome and good luck!

Another soul with a "vintage" Alpine!! Welcome!! With the TV in the corner I decided to make the watching a little easier. We replaced the curb-side sopha with theatre seating from Flexsteel. Custom RV Interiors in Vancouver WA did the work. We opted for the power reclining feature. It can be wired into the 12v system (my reccomendation) or plugged into 110ac with the optional adapters.

Welcome to the Alpine family, a great bunch of people who will offer to help you at evey turn. The great news about installing your own "new" video system is that you should be able to make sense of it. The only advice I can offer you is to keep it simple enough to operate easily and with one transmitter. Best of luck, and I look forward to meeting you at one of the Alpine rallies.

Charles,
may I add my welcome to the Alpine Coach family. As has been stated above if you attend one of the ACA or So Cal Alpine rallies you will get to see first hand many of the wonderful improvements that many of the members are only too happy to show off.
The next So Cal Alpine rally is in Hemet next month. Check it out! (see Daves link above)
Best of luck and hope to see you at one of the rallies soon
