FYI, the packing list shows the Koni's as follows:
Front 1021 - Spartan Rigid Front
Rear 1022 - Freight Shaker XC Rear

The front was easy to replace, rears with tires on were a tight fit. Ride height appears to be the same.

After 68K miles, it is hard to remember when the Bilsteins were new. The Bilstein fronts were so so, driver side rear shot, passenger side rear near death. The Koni ride is firmer with less bounce.

Provided, of course, that the rear shocks have sufficient travel to permit the jacks to be fully extended. Obviously one can't permit the rear wheels to be completely off the ground, but it would be a bummer if a shock came apart -- isn't that how this thread started?

Frank H.

Unless, I am missing something here, how would you get your tires off if the jacks don't lift high enough for the tires to clear the ground?

Danny, Is this still going to happen?? Or should we just get them ourselves?
Thanks for your help.

Maybe contacting RTS Truck & RV Performance Center in Redlands, Ca. who was mentioned in the opening post would give us all a deal now that there are so many who have indicated we would buy them.

Chuck is mentioned as the owner so unless Danny has something cooking already...I am happy to make the call and see how willing they are to sharpen their pencils for a group buy of 25+ orders of 4 each and some pairs.

I'm ready to rock and roll. We have a year end blow out special for the Alpine good through Dec 31, 2007:

4 Koni FSD's installed
Front axle alignment
Weigh the coach and test tire pressures
Lube the exhaust brake

$1095.00 out the door.

I have enough shocks for 8 coaches.

FYI: KONI told us 2 things, 1, the part #s 1021 and 1022 are backed ordered until Feb and 2 the price goes up a bunch after Jan 1 2008.

Thanks,

Keith

What will you sell a set of four-delivered to our members? I already have a guaranteed delivered price of $476.

Danny,

As you can imagine we can't even come close to that. If you have the price and availability locked in I would definitly make sure you take advantage of that before the price increases hit Jan 1.

Thanks,

Keith,

There are only 10 of these shocks left in the country. The back orders will be filled Feb.17th and will be at the new price,I believe 189.00 retail. We only have two sets up here,so I don't want to give them away so to speak.

Hey Danny:

Thanks for looking into new Koni shocks for everyone. Will your source be able to get shocks to us? Mike and Keith make it sound like none are really out there.

I checked online. They seem to be available, still, at $150 each. As I recall on my last coach, the price is a little lower if called in, instead of ordered online ($135?).

It sounds like the price is going up very soon. I'd like to get some, even if just to store away for a few months. Of course I'd really like to get them at your price!

Thanks!

Send a message via AIM to SDPilot
Danny,

Please put me on the list, as well. I need four for my '99 36FDS.

Thanks,

Charles Harris

After reading all the comments about these items going the way of the "Great White Goose" I am prompted to ask if this "Group buy" is going to happen.
