This is my 1st post as my DW & I bought a 2004 34" Alpine with 400 ISL in Dec. It runs and drives like a Go Cart we both just LOVE it.I read this site everyday as it has so much information and insight into our MH.A few years ago we bought a low mileage CC it was the biggest money pit and had a problem every time we left home so we took a bath and got rid of it and got a travel trailer for 2 years but just as fun or comfortable as a MH.When we got our CC we where looking for a Alpine but they are hard to find,we have been on 4 trips and not a hiccup can't say good enough things about our coach and the nice couple we bought it from. 1 thing that I would like to add is a SilverLeaf I found the data port in the service bay but can not locate port in the dash or drivers area.I just want to say thank you for all the knowledge that I have received so far and hope to return the favor in the future. TRAVEL SAFE

Hello and welcome to you and your wife. The data port is behind panel in front of the passenger side chair. Pull the panel, it is held on with velcro. You will find it and several other items and acess to other related electronics items for the Alpine.

Welcome to the forum and to Alpine Coach ownership!

Dave's correct.

When you get a chance you may wish to add a signature to your posts with your coach year and model, so that if you ask questions, we know where to start making suggestions for your specific year and model. And so you don't need to keep typing it!

Please consider joining the ACA chapter of FMCA, and/or one of the regional owners clubs. Their rallies are great places to find out more about your coach. If you check out the Alpine Coach Association website, you will find links to the websites of most of the regional clubs.

Keep enjoying the coach.

PS--early Alpine models had separate ABS and engine diagnostic plugs--requires 6-pin SL plug....Later Alpines combined the two plugs and require a 9-pin SL plug. By no means the "expert" on SL, but check your pin pattern on the plug, when you find it--Dave's guidance should get you there.....

Shorty, I have a 38' 2005 FDTS (pre Silverleaf). I wanted the Silverleaf functions (at least the engine monitoring) so I called them, they have a Vehicle Monitoring System VMSpc) that connects to the data plug described above and runs on a PCI. I sit my PC on the dash and run VMSpc on the left 1/3 of the screen and Garman Street Atlas on the other 2/3's. That gives me a LARGE GPS and the engine data. While this does not give you all the Silverleaf functions, it gives you the engine info AND a good GPS.

Just above the Mission Statement section near the top of the page, you will see a menu item that says User CP (User control panel). When you click that menu item, you will see a list of items on the left side of the page. Under Settings and Options you will see Edit Signature. That's where you can add a signature with your coach year and model. What you put in there will automatically show up at the bottom of all of your posts.

Just to be clear, the viewing the signature depends upon the device you are using, for some reason neither the iPad or iPhone apps display the signature information, maybe they will correct that in a coming update. Although as you can see from below, it does append something.
