According to the notes taken by Frank Halasz for the ACA website on the occasion of the 5/8/08 Gearhead Session at the NoWACA Rally:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: How many Alpines are out there? Burk: About 1400. ACA has one of the highest percentage of active members pf any owners' group. Q: Have we any way to contact the other Alpine owners? A: Burk: WRV provided the ACA membership person with a record of all purchasers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like we just need to find where the list went, and then try to update it.

Here is Mark Harrah's reply:
I am not sure exatly how many were made. the first serial number was 71957 for the year gary jones was born. I do know there were a lot of numbers skiped between certain model years. On a average from the first year of production to the last year and average of 4 units rolled of a week. I will talk with burk in the morning to see if he knows for sure and get back with you

My 1999 is #72145 and came off the line in Dec. 1998 according to WRV when I bought it in 2002. It would be nice to find #1 off the line.

Burk said
1) not sure exactly, somewhere around 1400 total
2) serial numbers were skipped between years, he has no precise data on that

Burk has his 2009 SE 34' demo w/5K miles if you are interested.

Our 2003 is 74740. We took delivery in March; but, it sat on the dealers lot for many months. Where can I find the date of manufacture?
