My wife and I arrived at Ocean Mesa early. We got here Wednesday since we love the area and have friends who live nearby. We had originally expected about 6 or 7 of the 23 expected coaches to get here a day early on Thursday, but I think we ended up with 11-12 coaches here yesterday! 24 people went to dinner at Mattei's Tavern in Los Olivos and I think a great time was had by all. It's been extremely windy the last two days, but this morning the winds seem to have abated which will make for a great day. We expect the balance of the Alpiners to show up today and we have a full weekend planned. Lots to do here and never enough time!

The group is taking a tour tomorrow of a ranch that raises miniature horses. They have a few new babies (pups?) so it should be very interesting.

I will continue to report on the rally so that all can enjoy it with us.

Michael Sebastian (owner) of Saddleback RV and Burk Morgan (VP Sales and Marketing at WRV) are here showing two new coaches. The coaches look great and Alpine has some new floor plans, and a new, lower price point model, the Limited.

We had a great dinner sponsored by WRV. Thanks.

Dinner and the wind....hold onto your plate. A great time by all!!

Tom- Thanks for the photos and the report. This was my first rally as an assistant wagonmaster and I've discoved just how much work the organizers do putting together a rally. Had no time to post any updates. We had a GREAT time. The group got to visit a ranch that raises and breeds miniature horses, which were all smaller that Gail and John Stacy's Great Dane dog! There was one particularly frisky baby (11 days old) that was about 25 pounds and 29 inches tall that was really entertaining. Last night's bbq was great as the wind died down for the evening and didn't kick up again until late in the evening. Most of our attendees are leaving today but about 6 are going to stay another night.

Wow, talk about wind. About 2AM Sunday I heard our jacks scraping on the concrete, sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard , as the wind pushed us around.

Despite the wind, it sure seemed that everyone was having a grand time. Joel and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the planned activities, great food, beautiful wildflowers, and all in all, a very G R E A T rally. Our thanks to everyone who helped pull it al together. Great job! Hope to see all of the participants at future rallies.

I second that!!!

The rally was wonderful in spite of the wind. Thank you so much Jim & Stephanie and Rick & Sue for all of your hard work in organizing this rally!!

And, thank you Burk and WRV for sponsoring our windy BBQ...the food was great and the company even better. My final thanks is to Michael Sebastian and his team from Saddleback for being there with 2 new rigs to tempt us.
