Oil Pressure Gauge

The Oil Pressure gauge on our 1998 Alpine is not working properly. Joe would like to replace it, but the folk at the parts store tell us that the gauge has to be purchased with the sending unit as a kit. Does anyone know the original manufacturer of the gauges? Or perhaps another brand will work?? Am attaching a picture of the dash gauges.

Do you know its the gauge & not the sending unit?
If the parts guys know that it has to be purchased with the sending unit as a kit, they should also be able to tell you the brand.
My guess is Borg-Warner gauges, but that's just a guess.

It is more likely to be the sender which is VDO 360009.

The oil pressure gauge in my 99 was not working right and it was the sending unit.

Pressure sending unit is rumored to be found on top of oil filter housing

Thank you everyone!! I am sure you have given us enough information to solve the problem. We replaced the sending unit a while back but it is acting up again. We will give that another go. Thanks again. What a comfort it is to have such a venue for problem solving.

Best regards to all
