A couple of nights ago I read on the ACA website that Burk Morgan made some statements about WRV actively looking for a buyer and pretty much indicating that WRV will be back.

Today on biditup.com they are advertising an auction on June 26 and 27. It looks like every nut, bolt and screw is being aucioned off. Also several completed trailers and motor homes and some incomplete ones will be sold.

Does anybody know the whole story?

I was at the ACA rally when Burk made the comments and I remember him saying that negotiations go from periods of being active/hot and slow. I don't remember him expressly intimating WRV would be back; just that they were talking to others and something might happen or might not.

From my experience in business, this really looks like the end of WRV and unless some manufacturer buys the most important assets at auction, it will be a difficult re-start. My view is like Engineer Mike's--we now own "collectibles".

From my perspective, it's a good thing WRV was an assembler of primarily other's components because most of the coach can be repaired by others who also service the same systems on other coaches. The body parts or frame damage may take some work by custom shops.

So unless some miracle happens between now and the auction or at the auction, I view this as the end of WRV, and I'm taking good care of my favorite Alpine mechanics.

We also like the coach so well, even with the mechanical problems we have had, that we're going to stay with ours because we can spend a heck of a lot of money on maintenance compared to the cost of trading at highly discounted trade values for somebody else's inferior driving/handling/floor plan machine.
