on-going problem re: silverleaf original style tank sensors
This has been an on-going problem since we bought the coach; ('06Apex40). The module in the waste tank compartment, indicates that it is operating properly, red&green leds are indicating properly. Have replaced all sensors and transitional connectors. Silverleaf screen by drivers seat works erratically, (when in tank mode) sometimes showing a full watertank, sometimes empty. Same with LP readout. Black and gray tanks always read empty. The only thing left to replace is the module I mentioned earlier.
Until this problem is resolved, eventually, I can deal with the minor in-
conveniences, but I have stumbled onto a problem that isn't so minor. The silverleaf system with all of its' gee-whiz attributes, won't let me fill the water tank when the system says the tank is already full. When you hook up city water to the hose reel, you will get either city water throughout your system, or if your tank is less than full, water will be routed to your tank, and will fill until full, then shut off automatically.
So here's what I get; if the readout happens to be saying empty when I want to fill the tank, that's fine; it fills, and fills, and fills until it runs over.
(I found this out the hard way with a flooded basement). OR, if the readout happens to say the tank is full, when it's not, I get no water at all. Then it gets tricky. I have to backfill the tank through the drain line.
I've learned that when I have to fill the tank this way, I must open the storage slide-out, and worm my way in there enough, so that with the aid of a flashlight, I can monitor the water level until I'm ready to shut it off.
I'm sure the solution to this problem would be simple, if I were parked out-side the Silverleaf facility, but that's about 1,000 miles away.
