I just got back from 130 mile trip with lighter toad (5,000 lbs.)and it happened once again with the tranny going into "limp mode". I was told that Allison fixed the problem and 60 miles into my travel, same sympton came back once again.

I now have code LO-70 and it has developed hard bang shift between 2nd and 3rd. Everytime there is little load, this coach will go into 1st gear and will only roam between 1st and 2nd. Also, the tranny temp gauge reached 300 and the light came one a few times when it did not reach 300. My speedo goes nuts when this happens and shows" Shift Inhibit" light.

I wanted to have it towed but the tow company will not come up to the mountain to get it. So I drove it home and got home ok but with very harsh shifting. It was all downhill so it was ok.

I made a list again and dropped it off at the dealer this morning.

Todays' list

Tanny Limp mode
Speedo going crazy while in limp mode
Shift Inhibit light
Loud bang/jerk between 2nd and 3rd gear up shift
Tranny hot (gauge)
Tranny temp light
ABS light
Bedroom sliding door and latch broken
Bedroom head board molding below mirror missing
Rear room slide hydraulic lines broken
Entry step riser unglued
Freezer heavy frost
3m to be applied on top of the stress crack repair
Whining gear noise between 60-70 mph
Sliding windows hard to open/close

On top of that, when I went from 50 mph to 1st gear, I made an emergency stop and got some body damage from a rock on the side of the road.

My coach has been in the shop for more than 85-90% of my ownership since late February. I took three small trips and all with major issues and some with returning issues. I am not sure what I can do at this point.

I have two week trip with the family including my parents in a week and a half and I may have to cancel the whole thing (hotels/RV resorts reservations in various locations).

I keep hearing people saying that it can only get better however, it is just getting worse for me.

rockcj, I would be very cautious of the whining gear noise that you refer to. That is exactly the description I told my wife when we began our first trip. It sounded as if the backlash had not been setup correctly in the rear. As you may or may not know app. 300 miles later the entire differential of the rear came unglued on to the turnpike. We are still waiting for that to be repaired after 3 weeks.

Oh, great. On top of my tranny issues, I now have to watch out for my rearend.

I really want this to stop.
Still no news from Allison or Alpine.
