We have a 2003 and presently at 38,0000 miles both windshields have broken bad enought that they need to be replaced.. Do you supose I could cut out the center post and install a 1 piece windshield glass? I suspect there are wires in the middle post that will have to be moved. and the windshild wipers will have to be relocated. (only one of them I think). Think it can be safely done??

Stretch,

Besides all of the things you mentioned, I am sure the new front cap is also stronger to make up for the lack of the center post. I did hear from somebody that the factory will do the modification to older coaches, but I think it is pricey and the only safe way to go.

Before Mike Glazier left I asked him what it would cost to replace a 2 piece with a 1 piece windshield and his estimate at the time was that it would probably be in the $20,000 range, and I would be well advised to let somebody else be the guinea pig on this before I did it. It does have wires through the middle of the window and a bunch of other issues going on in making the change. The wipers do have to be relocated.

Thanks for the info folks. With your sage advice, I think Ill pass and just replace the two windshields. Got lots of other updates to do first, like lcd tv in front and rear and replace front brakes and tires all around with the new bigger size. AAlso need to repair washer/dryer, and hydraulic leak back buried under the floor under the bed. 4 or 5 years old and things starting to fall apart.
