Directions to Pre-Rally

Below are the directiions to the Fort Benning RV Park.

Safe driving !!

ACA PRE-RALLY FT. BENNING, GA
ROAD DIRECTIONS 7-12 MARCH 2011

Fort Benning Georgia is located in both Georgia and Alabama. The Recreation Area and Campground we will be using is on the Alabama side of the installation. Because of the Department of Defense vehicle registration requirements to enter the cantonment or main area of the installation, we will be entering from the Alabama side. Arrangements have been made to issue temporary vehicle passes at the campsite. Copies of your Drivers License, Vehicle Registration and Insurance Card will be required. Directions with distances are provided below. We will be staying in the main campground with full hook ups rather than dry camping in the rally area like the 2009 pre rally. When arriving-------

FROM WEST or NORTHWEST-

When approaching from the West or Northwest it is best to arrive at Phenix City AL on US- 80E from Montgomery, US-280E from Birmingham, or US-431S from Opelika. All three highways converge on the Northwest side of Phenix City. Take US-280E/US-431S south. On the South side of Phenix City US-431S splits from US-280E. Take US-431S south (right) for 2.6 miles to the junction of AL-165S. An intersection warning sign with flashing yellow lights alert you to the intersection. Turn left on AL-165S for 6.4 miles. Directional signs for Uchee Creek Recreation Area and for Fort Benning are before the intersection of AL 165S and 101st Airborne Division Road. Turn East (left) on 101st Airborne Division Road and enter the Fort Benning Reservation. (Traffic and other infractions are handled in Federal Court!) Shortly after entering the reservation there is a sharp curve (15 mph) to the right. Travel 3.1 miles on 101st Airborne Division Road (straight at the stop sign) to Uchee Creek Road. Turn East (left) on Uchee Creek road for approximately 1 mile. DO NOT TURN INTO THE RALLY AREA/ACTIVITY CENTER WHERE WE CAMPED IN 2009. Turn left after the General Store/ Registration. You have arrived.

FROM THE NORTH or NORTHEAST-

When approaching from the North or Northeast it is best to use I-85S to I-185S to the Northern outskirts of Columbus, GA. Take US-80W (exit10) west (right) to US-280E/US-431S at the northwest side of Phenix City, AL. Follow US-280E and US-431S (left) to the south side of Phenix City, AL. When US-431S splits from US-280E follow US-431 S south (right) for 2.6 miles to the junction of AL-165S. A crossing sign with flashing yellow lights alert you to the intersection. Turn left on AL-165S for 6.4 miles. Directional signs for Uchee Creek Recreation Area and for Fort Benning precede the intersection of AL 165S and 101st Airborne Division Road.
