Has anyone come up with a better way of keeping the entry door propped open. I had the Posi-Lock apart and made repairs so that it worked like it's supposed to. A few days ago one of the grandkids pushed the door to close it and the lock open mechanism is screwed up again. They should shorten the name to POS-lock.

Isn't there a better way to hold these doors open without using a little catch type mechanism that is so easy to break? Most people wouldn't think of having to pull the door handle to be able to close the door. The bungee method works great, it just looks a little tacky!!

I'm starting the search.

Terry, went though the same thing. My coach is a 2003 and Nobody had trouble until I got her. So I went to PTL web site and purchased the new arm and clip. Works great but I don't know why they don't have a shock there. The wind gets pretty hard on the door. Like I said my hinge on top was wore out and the arm had play in it which let that clip go over it and I was locked in the rv until I figure how it get it lose. I tried the window out works good. Everyone was laughing watching me crawl in and out the window. Knock on wood but after I replaced it all works great. I even broke the inside pull handle and he had that to.

Luckily I haven't had to haul my fat old butt in and out of the window.

My door locks, handle and hinges are in good shape. I lubed the handles and locks when I fixed the POS lock at the top. I had the prop open mechanism fixed and it was working like it should, until this week, for what that's worth. I think the latch is just too fragile and is waiting to be broken or bent again.

I'll pull it out again and talk to a couple of smart guys I know, I'm the dumb friend, and see if they have any ideas. I have a friend who owns a machine shop, maybe he can think of a fix. To my way of thinking it should hold the door open but also be able to withstand an accidental forced closing without damage.

I was hoping somebody on here had come up with a fix.

PTL shows a version of the POS that yields to a pull without the cable and I have seen it on other Alpines. It looks identical but a rep for PTL says it does not replace the cable variety. I have seen MHs with a simple strut to hold the door open.
