Power cord reel not working right

My power cord reel will start rolling up the cord and then stop, i have to wait about 1 minute and it will work again for a few seconds and then stop again. Does anyone have any idea's about what may be wrong?

Power cord reel not working right

It could be that it is binding and tripping a reset. If you haven't had it unreeled completely for a period of time, you may try doing that. It could be reeling to one side and binding. I actually had a similar experience. I reeled it out completely and it hasn't given me a problem since. Good luck.

You should also check/clean the storage bin, if you are not cleaning the cable as you reel it in, the bin could be jammed with dirt. Two things happen when it is dirty, first the motors slip on the cable, it needs to be clean. Second the dirt can clog the mechanism causing it the slip. I have also noticed it slips if the cable is wet, when I bring it in, I have a microfiber cloth I wipe the cable with, gets dirt off and dries it at the same time. If the cable is slipping as you reel it in you could be causing the motor to overheat and shutdown due to thermal overload.

As mentioned above the cable should be unreeled completely to straighten out the kinks that it will naturally get.

FYI-Prior to rolling in he cable, I take a blue towel, put water on it, and CLEAN the cable as it goes in, this keeps lots of gunk out of the bin. As suggested, roll it out all the way, then clean it all as it goes in, leaving a big drop loop as you are working on it, so it does not bind as you are working. This should fix the issue.

Check all connectors. My cord quit on the retrieve side last week after checking and cleaning all connectors it’s now working fine. Was intermittent before quitting.

I took a cloth, sprayed the cable with 303 and wiped it down as I brought it in.

Thats what I do. Spray 303 in a rag, and let cable slide thru it !
