Question about Mattresses

We put the Pump at the head of the bed and cut the foam support just enough to allow the pump to fit. With the pillow top zipped on we don't even know it is there. As for letting the air out we have never seen a need. We have traveled from Seattle to Florida and just about everywhere in between. I have never seen the sleep number go over 80.We normally have the numbers set at 55 and 65. After 3 years of use I don't even worry about varying pressure while we travel. I may have just been lucky.

The problem I did have was caused by stressing one of the connections when I put the pump under the pillow top.

I have placed a Memory Foam Mattress in my TC this past Spring. I have camped almost 90 nights in 07. The mattress is the identical model that the DW and I have in the house, so we were able to "try it out" for several months before we purchased. The mattress has vertical "tubes" or vents to eliminate the "hot" feeling that some mattresses have. Anyway the DW and I like it and they come from Wallace Sales, Inc. shipped rolled up on UPS and no shipping charges. They say that they will deliver to your home or campsite. Well, I finally decided to start small/cheap. We purchased a memory foam topper from Costco that happened to be on sale that weekend, so only cost $122! We've slept on it now for about 2 weeks, and it is a big improvement over the original mattress.

It does bunch up when we pull the slides in, but settles right down when the slides are out again. I was worried that all of the sheets & blankets would all be pulled out when the topper bunched up, but it doesn't seem to affect that much at all.

So, we're happy for now, but longer term, I like the sound of Wally501's mattress. We'll see how it goes....
