Smile Questions

Has anyone installed a brake controller on their Alpine? I have a 2005 Alpine with both a 6 pin and a 7 pin factory installed plug at the rear of the coach. I have not looked at it in detail so I do not know if the 7th wire for electric brakes is installed to the 7 pin plug or if the wires for the brake switch and power are available under the dash. Even if the wires are available under the dash it is a hornets nest under the dash on the drivers side. Some general input from anyone with knowledge would be appreciated.

I have also experienced a Fault indicating an AC Back feed. I was able to clear this by turning off the Charger/Inverter. The manuals give no information on this fault.

Thank you for any assistance--Bill

Bill, I have been thru this myself. If you go back a few post, you'll see some talk on this. My wiring had been changed to run a transmission pump. There is a wiring diagram that gives the numbers on the wire to what they do. I put a meter on each one and push the brake and so on. Someone on my coach had ran wires from front to back for this transmission pump. I cannot tell you if there is a wire already there for the electric brake. I'm going say maybe but mine was already there. If you go to the wiring diagram in tech library it will show you what's there and the number. I have a 2003 Alpine and I'm sure they changed for yours. Engineer Mike came in for a diagram for me. In the tech Library is your answer. Someone else will chime in shortly and maybe have been there on your year of coach.

Good question:

Go to the Alpine Coach Association: Alpine Coach Association

Click on "Technical Library"

Then "Electrical Systems"

Then select 1997-2003 "Wiring Documents"

Then click "GO"

Then on the file you want to view.

Here is the direct link to 1997- 2003 Wiring Documents:
