Some past posts adressed the need to leave cabinet doors open or recovered in lucite or plastic in order to allow the IR signal to reach the unit inside. I've installed the device listed here http://www.weaknees.com/rf-remote-details.php
It allows us to change the tivo unit in the main cabinet from the bed. How great is that?
