Rear & Front Hub Disassembly & Assembly
I have to replace the front and rear rotors on my 1999 Alpine Coach. Does anyone have experience and /or information on the procedures and specs to do this? I am starting with the rear hub first. I have removed the left rear axle and now see that I will need a 3 ˝” socket to remove the hub nuts. Some of my questions are: 1-Do I remove the hub and rotor as one unit, or do they need to be disconnected first? 2-Does anything else need to be disconnected (the calipers are already removed) before I can remove the hub and rotor? 3- Are there any special procedures/tools to remove and replace the inboard seal? 4-What are the procedures to reassemble the hub, especially lubricating the bearings and torquing the hub nuts? Torque specs for all nuts would be very useful, especially the hub nuts. I will also need similar information for the front hubs.
I have done a lot of searching the Web for procedures, shop manuals, etc., but I am coming up with very little.
