Who makes or supplied brakes, drums, and rotors for Western RV Chassis. On a 2007 Alpine Model AC36202

On a 2007 you should Meritor hydraulic disk brakes. There are no drums, All four wheels have rotors. You should be able to find numbers on the calipers. If your rotors aren't too bad, you should be able to have them turned. You would just have get pads and calipers if needed. Should be able to find parts at brake supply warehouse ok.

Should be able to just rebuild the calipers rather than replace although that does complicate it.

Curious--the brake components on an Alpine are "million-mile" parts--did you have some sort of pad hang-up or fluid issues?

From my collection of miscellaneous data:
Meritor (or Arvin Meritor) 4-piston Brakes (aka Quadaraulic): Front Axlemodel # MFS13144ANC2 used 60450468001 Front-Left Caliper Assy, and 60450469001 Front-Right Caliper Assy; Rear axles use same calipers but reversed for sides.
These parts are identified as 70mm with a 7/16-24 inlet port. The part numbers ending in 1 like these were sold through Ford. Part numbers ending in 2 have a different lining and were sold to anyone else.
The fourth digit from the right is either an 8 (left front & right rear) or 9 (right front & left rear) indicating one side or the other. Which side a caliper assembly is used on depends on which axle it is mounted on. For Inner wheel bearing seal --> A 1205U2491 & for Caliper brake pads --> KIT D769AM (axle set of pads) all by Arvin Meritor. Aftermarket pads & seal may be available. Most Alpines using Quadraulic brakes use an oil bath lube for front wheel ends, with a Stemco seal cover constituting the “outer” seal. If using greased bearings instead of oil bath, a correct seal# is needed.

Yup, nothing special about changing brake fluid.

Start by sucking out the fluid in the master cylinder. Fill and suck out until it is absolutely clear. You do NOT want to pull dirty fluid through the system.

Then, making sure not to allow the master cylinder to get low on fluid, start at right rear and use suction to pull out the old fluid. I use an old transmission pump with step down clear hose so I can see when the new/clear fluid arrives.

Biggest issue is removing the wheels so you can access the outer bleed screw.

The actual bleeding is little different than on a car-- just larger quantities.

Brett has it right--wheels off; 2-3qrts of DOT-3; keep a vacuum pulled while bleed screw is open, keep reservoir full.......

If you can't remove the wheels right away, can you just bleed / flush the inner calipers till you can do inner and outer?

Sure--its called half a flush....rear axle seems to be the most problematic for mositure intrusion....

And, I would buy 4 quarts if you are going to flush the reservoir before bleeding the brakes. It is a BIG reservoir.

Contacted Meritor, they confirmed EM info, KIT D769AM (Note: 1 kit per axle, so two kits for F & R). Meritor recommend their distibutor Ogburns Truck Parts, also a Chevy and possibly Ford truck dealer. Meritor also confirmed reversal of Calipers (Front to rear). After I confirmed the Meritor KIT info, the repair facility contacted their distributor and found a Raybestos KIT# RYB PGD 1032M. I checked with NAPA, gave them the Meritor Kit number and they could not x-ref? All other parts looked fine. KIT prices ranged for $60 (Intenet) to $350 ea.

These pads are used on 2003 to 2009 Chevy C6500 & C7500 series trucks w/8.1 Gas, 7.2 & 7.8 diesels, and other models.
