I have tried unsuccessfuly to get the TracVision L3 to work. After talking with KVH support, I found out I needed to reflash the dish, but they seem to think there are other problems, probably a bad circuit board. I have ordered a wineguard dome to be installed by my dealer. I decided not to spend several hundred dollars or more to update the KVH as it is 10 years old. The newer dish is not an in motion satellite, but will lock on to the satellites with the push of a button. The newer dish is SD not HD.
I will let you know how it works in a couple of weeks.
Best regards to you all,
Alex

PS: This is for DirectTV.

Hey wingtrike,

Find out if you can upgrade, the software to HD, at a later date.
It makes a lot of difference to us and was a free upgrade.

Steve

Got the coach back yesterday. Couldn't really check out the dome at the dealers due line of sight being blocked. So I stopped on the way home and in a couple of minutes, I had satellite reception. First impression is that the dish is noisy when it changes satellite, but I can live with that.
The dome has 2 LNB's so no HD reception (but I knew that beforehand).
It can be upgraded to an inmotion unit but I really don't see a need for our use.
HAGD,
Alex
