We would like to venture down to Savannah,GA around the end of January. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on campgrounds in the area. I considered Hilton Head which we do really love but it is just a little to far. Any suggestions or opinions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

HERE is a link to a thread already running.
You may also want to try the "find" button.
My preference is Skidaway Island state park, but you may want to call for reservations! IMO. Rivers End is a little "crowded". ED

Ted and Carol,
We like Ft. McAlester State Park. We feel it's close enough to Savannah for day trips. Of course, we like Ft. McAlester for fishing, crabbing, etc. It is a beautiful park. It's only a couple exits below the main exit for Savannah.

Bud & Beverly, we hope that you folks are doing well and getting through the winter. Tell Buddy I believe that Japan is know making a motorhome.
We had looked at Ft McAlester but really wondered how the TV reception was?

Ted and Carol,
I think the TV reception at Ft. McAlister is fine for everybody but Alpine owners.
We're still at home for the winter (but at 78 degrees today, who would want to leave). In fact, we decided to stay home thru the holidays. Truth be known, I don't think we are rested from the summer trip and all the problems.
As for Japan----well, they are making everything else (except what China makes). Can you imagine a Chinese motorhome?

We have stayed at Skidaway Island and Ft. McAlester State Parks and would recommend both. Fort McAlester may be a little closer to 95.

There is a nice KOA right off 95 . It is about 5 miles to Down Town Savannah. A real nice place and close to all.
