sewer vent

A couple years ago we had an accident that shot sewage up through the vent. Got everything cleaned up fine (it was the fault of our neighbor in the park. We had the back flush hose hooded up and he turned the water on, what a mess!) We have tried to take top off of the vent but it looks to be sealed. Is there any way we can take it off and flush the vent? We get odor in the coach and can't seem to solve it. We flush the black tank a lot so we don't think that's the cause.

Most people use a low tree branch to remove the sewer cap. All joking aside, I am not sure how to remove it, but when I replaced the whole unit on mine there was a gap between the roof and the vent pipe. It may have been possible for some sewage to have gone down the outside of the pipe. This was the first Repair I did on my coach, wish I had taped off that gap better when I did the repair.

You dont say what coach/model you have [suggest you add it to your sig blk] but there are acouple places for oders to "occur"--doubt if its the outside vent. Check all p-traps; second, check the drain pumbing for the washer hook-up in the coat closet; third, check the connection where the grey water from the kitchen sink goes thru the wall opposite the shower stall [ie, the wall where the control handle and spray head are mounted]. The sink drain connection is known to break or disconnect between the wall and the kitchen/room slide....
PS--think grey water doesnt smell bad--think again....

Thank you for the suggestions. I do smell most of it around the washer/dryer. Our coach is a 2003 36ft Alpine.To get at that drain is a bit tough but we'll check it out. Also will check out the shower drain. Thanks again.
