Sharp microwave removal
I'm trying to replace the microwave/convection oven, dumb question: how in the hell do they bolt that thing in there, I know about the bracket in the back that you hook the oven on to but what holds it in place. Most of the under the cabinet units have two bolts that come in from the top. There is no access from the top and I don't see any bolts/screws. What am I missing?

Mine had two bolts that come in at an angle from the bottom front corners. They are about a foot long and angle back. The back hangs on the shelf attached to the wall.

The Sharp's use a mounting system that has been around for a long time. That is the rear bottom lip that you refer to and long angled bolts. These long bolts go from under the removable filter cavity on the bottom front to the top rear where they thread into the back plate. If there is top access, some but not all, coach builders add a couple of fasteners either from a top cabinet or side cabinet.

The bolts are under (technically over) the removable filter. it is a bit hard to see but this is a picture of the Phillips head bolt.

Back when dinosaurs walked the earth, Sharp also mounted their microwave oven with a front flange. Just remove the screws and pull the unit toward you.

That's great! I still remember the Amana Radar range ads on our little black & white TV.
