I need to replace the Sharp R-1870 convection/microwave oven in our 2005, 34 foot Alpine. It is not worth repairing. It appears that the oven is fastened inside of a metal frame. There are two bolts in the bottom of the oven above the filters which go in at an angle and a metal plate at the bottom rear where there are a couple of screws. How do I remove this oven without tearing up the headliner or adjacent cabinets? I am unable to find any manuals dealing with an installation in our motor home. Any help would be greatly appreciated --Tom--

Been there, done that. When you remove the angled up bolts, the front of the micro will drop down, have some one help you ho;ld it until the bolts are free and then it swings down, if you use the same micro from sharp, just reverse the removal.

Tom,

I noticed you previously posted that the microwave would run for 59 seconds and then shut off. If this is the problem it can be repaired for less than the cost of a new microwave.

The tecnician replaced the control panel 2 times then the touch pad and then the door motor and a micro switch. still does not work. We decided to just replace the darn thing. Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate not only yours but all the others. This forum is great and we get many ideas on how to correct problems. Again, thanks. --Tom--

Your replacement part is still waiting:

Sharp Microwave

Don't deny it! You were hoping the old one would die...

If you had the famous 59 second problem you better get a new technician. The problem is a door motor and it costs about $25.

On mine when we pulled it out for the 59 second stopping problem we discovered Monaco ran two bolts down through the top.

Had to remove the flooring in the cabinet overtop the microwave. About 15 staples held the floor in place. Needless to say there are now a couple wood screws for the floor.
