Short and Long-term Storage-Air Bags
If you are parking/storing your coach for weeks at a time, or for months at a time, would you dump the air bags, and would you set the jacks down or not? I have always dumped the bags and left the jacks up for short storage, down for long storage.

Congress should meet for no more than 30 working days per year, with no salary if a balanced budget isn't passed within that time, should be compelled to stay in session 24/7 until a balanced budget is passed, and then the air bags should go home and get honest jobs.

Yes, but should they put their jacks down and go to their rooms?

Air Bags
Rick it is better to keep the air in for short term and the jacks down for long term so you don't let the bags sit on the top and bottom of the bag. The air bags will last a very long time in the run mode or in extended mode.

Thanks Dwight. Good to hear from you. I hope you had an easy drive home from the Plymouth rally.

When down in Decatur IN last summer I asked about leaving the jacks down or up for my extended period of storage. My conditions are most likely different from yours but the coach went into storage for 8 months and in temperatures as low as -40 Celsius/Fahrenheit some days. The technicians said no hydraulic jacks for that length of time in those cold conditions, just let it sit on its tires or block it. Just wanted to add my 2 cents or less for another perspective.

On the 2003 I left the air in all the time, due to the 2006 being a few inches taller than the 2003 I have to bleed the air out before pulling into the garage. I park & store it with the air out and the jacks up.
I asked WRV and HWH your same questions and they both said it would be fine to leave the coach sitting on deflated bags. It has been 3 1/2 years and so far no problems.

Hey I edited my profile to include all the above in my "signature". How to I access it so I don't have to type this every time?

Would it be ok to let the air out of tires and let the tires set on the rims

You can check with some tire shops but I think you run the risk of damaging both your tires, by pinching and cutting, and the rims by doing that. Don't think I would try it!

letting the air out of the tires would be very hard on the bead pack in the side wall of the tire. the air bag is a small tire with the bead pack on the top and bottom, think about it

Thanks "takepride" I've done that now. Now I'll see how it works.
Harold
OK now how do I call it up, or append it when I post?
