Side viewing cameras

I have replaced the old front mounted TV with a Vizio. I really like the installation, but trying to view it from the driver's seat as a rear view camera is very unsatisfactory. As a result, I am thinking of putting a small separate monitor either on the dash, or as a swing down unit below the regular TV (easier wiring.)

Since I have been looking at several options, I would like to get some feedback from anyone who has done that. In particular, what unit did you use? Did you also change the camera? And, in particular, did you add side mounted cameras to view the sides for lane changes as are installed on some of the newer coaches?

Btw - mine is a '99 36FDS

Thanks,

Charles

When I replaced my TV I installed a swing down monitor attached to the underside of the old TV cabinet. I got the Valor RM-850WS from Crutchfield as this had the option to reverse the image and I wasn't sure how the new camera I got was set up. The camera I used was the Pyle-PLCBM20 which I bought from Amazon. You can use the existing camera cable but you have to put different connectors on and then make it watertight. A great improvement on the old setup. I didn't add side cameras as I can't really see the point of them.
