Slide issue

I have a 2002 34 foot Alpine and the hydraulic kitchen slide is making contact with the coach on the upper rear part of the slide. This is starting to look bad and the rubber insulation has to be replaced often. I have not been able to locate anybody that can adjust this slide. Anybody else have this problem? I could sure use some help with this.

Here is info I have-- yes for 2003 38FDDS main slide:

Main Slide adjustment: There is no top adjustment. The only adjustments are on the bottom two rectangular tubes that the slide out extends on. There is a height adjustment and in&out adjustment nut.

Instructions: In document section 2003 Alpine. When they are correctly adjusted the top touches the coach first and the bottom is about 1/2" out. As you hold the button retracted the bottom sucks in tight. Per Joe Portelli @ HWH 3/16/15 e-mail: When extending or retracting, the stay on the button an additional 3 to 5 seconds to fully seat the room and hoses are at their full pressure. You have in-stops to keep the room from coming in too far and the cylinder simply runs to maximum stroke on the out stroke to keep it from going out any further.

The large HWH room slide mechanism on our Alpines have two adjustments: 1--you can raise or lower the mounting brackets on the end of either slide ram by turning the large set/allen screw on the end of the ram, after loosening the lock nut; and 2--you can shift the slide forward or aft within the slide opening by loosening the bracket bolts on the stretcher bar that goes between the ends of the ram [I used a cargo strap and ratchet].
Easiest way to assess the alignment of the slide is to look at the paint strip alignment on the side of the coach with the slide fully closed. Be advised, I eventually had to remove and cut/re-weld the mounting bracket on the end of the ram to gain more upward adjustment--not a job for the faint of heart [smile].......
PS--I also glued a short strip of hard rubber material [1/4 inch thick] in the top, outside corner of the slide opening, to keep the edge of the slide from rubbing against the paint on the adjacent side wall of the coach.....

Slide Issue

Attached is a photo of the issue. This is upper rear corner of the large slide. Does anyone know how to prevent this from creating further damage.
Thanks Mike.

Certainly looks like your slide is out of adjustment.

What is the comparative gap in front of and at aft end of the slide. Said another way, is the slide centered in the opening?

Fairly common--I glued a 3x1.5x.5 inch block of hard rubber material on the inside portion of that corner. As long as the paint stripes on the outside match and the slide is in the middle of the opening--eg front to back, then the slide is aligned. The design of slide has the kitchen cabinet end of the slide lift up as the slide closes to its final position. The rubber block I described holds the outside trim edge from rubbing on the coach wall--as your picture shows. PM me if you what to discuss at length.....
