Hey folks. I have read some posts about loosening slide motor bolts, particularly on Newmars. Some question about hydraulic vs electric, not sure which but maybe both. Does the same problem exist on Alpines?

Help us help you by adding you coach model and year to your signature. If yours are hydraulic a cylinder is used at each slide to control movement. A 12v electric motor/pump provides the pressure to accomplish this task. The bolts on that motor are not likely to come loose.

Early models of Alpine, perhaps your 2000, did use an electric motor for the wardrobe slide in the bedroom. Don't recall "loose nuts/bolts" ever being mentioned as a cause for failure in early Alpines....

On my 2001, the wardrobe slide is electric. I did have the bolt break on the rod that ties the two ends together. Just lift up the carpet on the slide and you will see the rod. The bolt is at the back end.

RVPioneer, the model and year are listed in the OP’s profile, it is a 2000 40’ FDS.

Thanks to all who responded. I was worried for nothing. But, better to be aware that it’s not a problem than not be aware it is. This is a really great resource. I’m learning thanks to everyone who is willing to share knowledge and experience.
