Slide opening on own

Yesterday I noticed my forward passenger slide was open about 3 inches. I went in and closed it. This afternoon when I came home it was open again. I closed it again , went out to a meeting, and when I returned it was popped out again. Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what a solution might be?
I have a 2005 40 footer with 4 slides

Probably one of four issues:
  1. Leak in hose (I have that)
  2. Leak in valve at pump (backflow of pressure)
  3. Low fluid level (close slides, lift jacks, check level)
  4. Hooligan (your other half is messing with your mind)

First three are easily solved......

Run the Slide all the way out and in a couple of times that might help. Some times a small piece of dirt can get caught in the solenoid needle valve causing not to seal properly. Running the slide in and out may clean the dirt out and will stop the creeping. Or it could be what Takepride mentioned.

Dave's suggestion always worked for me in that case. Its only happened once or twice and running it all the way out and back in just once fixed it. Hope your problem is that easy to fix.

Or it could just be a leaking solenoid valve that needs replacing. We had that problem, in reverse, in that the slide would creep in from the extended position. Had to replace the extend HWH solenoid valve.

We had the exact same problem... one of our back slides creeped in... we, too, had the solenoid replaced.

On my bounder you need to hold the retract button for 5 seconds after it is retracted to set the brake.

Same here, except I was going 60 mph and did not have
Slide locks on...If you have to travel to get it fixed, don't move until you have secured the slide. Sorry to state the obvious.

There is no mechanical brake on this system to set. Strictly hydraulics.
