We now have three new sensors on our tire monitoring system, plus a fourth one now out. Everytime a new one is replaced and activated, another one goes out. The tech now says he wants to wait for direction from WRV before replacing yet another one.

Silverleaf does not use SmarTire sensors any longer. In our case, Silverleaf places the blame on SmarTire, and SmarTire places the blame on Silverleaf. Neither wants to acknowledge fault. Dave at WRV has a call in to both companies to try to get some direction. He said, as far as he knew, WRV was still sending out SmarTire sensors on their coaches.

Will keep you posted when I know something.

Beverly

The few issues I have had in 2 years of use seem to be Silverleaf related. Occasionally an icon will turn blue. I pull over at the next rest stop and turn off the ignition and the system works properly.

The WRV installed units may be powered on all the time since they do more than monitor engine, trans and tires (at least on the Apex). If so a switch may be need to power it down so it reboots. Just a thought but worth looking into.

WRV really seems to try to get to the bottom of things in a timely fashion. I had a call yesterday from Paul in Junction Ciy, Oregon, the vendor for supplying the SmarTire- Silverleaf systems. He is checking into our problem, but thinks it has something to do with the serial number on the sensors. They have to be programmed in for Silverleaf to recognize them. So, I should know more soon.

I am a bit confused. I was told by the Camping World tech that Silverleaf and SmarTire were no longer "doing business with each other"--that Silverleaf was using a different sensor. Then Paul said that that was true in a lot of instances, but some coach manuacturers, including WRV, were still using the system together.

It probably is a problem more with Silverleaf than with SmarTire. Rebelsbeach, you are probably lucky you don't have the Silverleaf system on your Essex.

We have to push a button for the SmarTire system to go off our monitor screen, so that we can monitor other functions or see behind the coach. That is a bit of a problem, and my husband would prefer something whereby he could do both at the same time.
