While at the Desert Rat Rally my hot water all of a sudden started smelling real bad. It was like sulphur (rotten eggs). I flushed the hotwater tank and it seems to be better. Does anyone know what causes this problem?

The motor home was loaded with water from Yuma AZ which is not the best in the world.

Any info would be appreciated.

Here's one article. A search will produce many more on the subject. Art

Some recommend chlorene, but Atwood uses 2 parts vinegar, 4 parts water.

Go here for why it stinks:

Use a good sanitizing solution as you can find here with a search, and your problems are over, until you get similar well water again.

No big deal, and not toxic per se.

How long has it been since you checked the anode in your hot water tank?

I bought a new 0ne to put in when I flushed the tank, however the old one was like new so I did not change it.

Every thing seems to be ok after the flush.
