Sold my Alpine in two weeks!

Greetings,

I just sold my 2000 Alpine to a great guy that will probably be showing up soon on this forum soon. As my final post to this forum I'll include the text of my ad for the next person wanting to sell their Alpine. From posting the ad to money in the bank was only two weeks.

Enjoy your Alpines. I sure enjoyed mine.

~~~~~~
What are you looking for in your next RV?
- Dinette on the passenger side for easy viewing of your campsite.
- Large picture windows on both sides of coach for spectacular views.
- Class A Diesel with 10,000 pound towing capacity.
- Large pass through basement storage that is accessible from both sides.
- Side radiator for easy access to the engine.
- Complete access to the master bedroom without needing to open a slideout.
- Large capacity water and holding tanks for extended stays away from hookups.
- Drives like a European sports sedan, not a truck.
- High cargo carrying capacity of 4,732 lbs for all your gear.
If you answered yes to the above features then please take a moment and have a look at our Alpine Coach.
We are the second owner of this Alpine Coach motorhome. The original owner paid $229,000 and sold it after six years to buy another Alpine Coach. We have used the motorhome on trips ranging from cross country with seven people, four adults and 3 children, to local weekend trips to the beach and mountains. The large tank capacities along with the batteries, inverter and generator allow for dry camping over extended periods of time. This motorhome is ideal for a couple or a family on the go. The master bedroom is completely usable at all times which makes sleeping on the go an option.
Below is a link to the original sales brochure. Look at the Limited Editions section in the brochure for capacities and options. The floor plan is 36FDS with a sofa in place of the recliner.
http://www.alpinecoachassociation.co...hures/2000.pdf
The brakes and all fluids were recently serviced by Redlands Truck & RV. Over the past three years the motorhome received new batteries, tires, Airride Air Springs, front axle seals, slide-out awning and the front end alignment.
The motorhome comes with a full tank of diesel, 100 gallons, and is ready to take you on your next adventure. Since the motorhome is for sale by owner, you will receive a complete walk through and orientation along with written tips on its use.
Call if you have any questions or would like to view this Alpine Coach.
It would have taken me two weeks to type that ad!!
I haven't been involved in Alpines long enough to know how well the used ones have sold over the years. I bought mine 3 years ago, my brother bought his 40' 2005 about 7 months ago and a friend of mine just bought a 36' 2003 within the last month or so.
I'm wondering if they are gaining in popularity. Compared to what is out on the used market it's pretty hard to beat the features Alpines have to offer.
The only reason I would consider selling mine is to possibly downsize to another Alpine. I might see a 36' in my future, not sure. I know a few owners who are on their 2nd or 3rd Alpine.
I'm glad to see them still on the road.
Terry
Definiyely agree that Alpines have many great features. I feel they are still pretty much off the radar for most buyers in the used market. Having browsed some threads of people asking about which type or brand of coach to buy, most responses tend toward Newmar, Monaco, Tiffin, etc. Reading the Newmar forum, those things have more issues than you can imagine.
Relatively few Alpines are currently for sale, perhaps a dozen, so it's only a matter of time until a fairly priced coach finds a new owner. We were able to look at 6 over a 3 month period before we found what we had our minds set on. Two were 40 footers which the DW thought was too long, two were in a state of disrepair that we both deemed unacceptable and one was in great condition but just outside of our allotted budget.
It was a no-brainer that we could buy a luxury DP for less than some slapped together new gasser and considerably less than a new entry level DP. The fact that the company no longer exists and the coach is 12 years old did linger in the back of my mind. The thought of a new $300K coach, most of which are exceptionally tacky, losing $200K in value over the next 10 years puts a smile on my face.
Thank you. We're considering selling our 2000 36' and can certainly make use of your well written ad!
Excellent ad with multiple techniques that are applicable to any kind of MH. I love the "what are you looking for?" section. Even though I have no current interest in selling my 2000 Beaver Patriot Thunder, I've copied your ad for future reference.
Tom, good job. Hope you stay here on the forum to share your knowledge.
I think the best part of your ad is the dinette, it’s location and large picture windows. Too many newer coaches are losing both.
My name is Mark and I cheerfully purchased Tom's Alpine. His ad got my attention real quick. This is so much better than other RVs I looked at. This coach is an upgrade from my 1990 Ford F350 dually crewcab with a 1990 Lance camper that I've had for 13 years.
