Splendide 200S Combo wsasher/dryer

We have recently started having a problem with our Splendide 2000S washer/dryer. When we put softener in the softener compartment, it used to be washed out into the washer. Now, after the washing is done, the softener is still in the compartment. It's as though water is not coming in and siphoning out the softener. We have removed the drawer that holds the detergent, bleach and softener and cleaned it thoroughly. I noticed that above where the drawer slides in, it appears that that's where the water comes in to wash out the detergent and softener. Could something be clogged up there that keeps water from getting into the softener compartment? Has anyone else experienced this?

We haven't had that particular problem with our Splendide 2000S, but we have had other problems. Call the service number (in the manual) - they've always been very responsive in helping troubleshooting/solving my problems.
