Step Cover Actuator

I have a 2008 Alpine and the step slide cover stick both in and out. Have pulled the actuator assemble out to make sure nothing is binding. Looks like to motor and gears in the housing are broke. The assembly is made by Thomson Linear Controls. The part # is DF12-10W54-22LN021. They don;t make this anymore or I can't find this part number. Anyone have any ideas on where I can get a replacement?

Thanks

Dan

Dan,

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions as to where to find the controller. But, just a thought: we've had our Alpine for about 9 years and never used the step cover. Maybe you don't need yours either?

Cheers!

I assume you tried to lubricate the slide the step cover rests on. I use a silicon lube.

Wife's doesn't like her legs hanging. I cut the worm gear in the actuator and now it is just a manual cover.
