Present home theater system has subwoofer under the couch. With new system, I'm thinking of standing it alongside the driver's chair. Anyone try this, and how did it work if you did?
Thanks.

I had a '98FD that I installed a Boze system in and placed the woofer by the passenger seat. Base has no directional quality, so put it wherever it fits.

My subwoofer is also under the couch on carpet. I install a thin sheet of plywood between the subwoofer and the carpet this will give you a better base sound.

As noted above, bass sound is not very directional. Place it anywhere in the area that is convient and it should do OK. Under the sofa or behind a chair will do fine.

Beside the drivers seat could be quite a blast. What is wrong with under the sofa?

I still have most of my hearing. If you do also, and the way most stuff is mixed these days, I'd suggest the sub-woofer could easily go in the basement. Unless you are in the process of Low-Riding your coach; then it goes in the wheel wells

Some kind of custom cabinet Linex or undercoated, then mounted from underneath the coach and vented thru the floor somewhere next to the driver's seat.
