Alpine Limited 2003 40'. My tach stopped working, I can't find any fuse listing for it. I took the dash apart but it is nothing but wireing harnesses. Any suggestions.

You may have a bad tach sender unit at the engine. I had this problem on our boat with similar engines. Unfortunately, you can't swap them between engines to see if one's not working. But you may want to look for it and think about it as a possibility, especially if it's not sending an electronic signal to the tach.

We've had this problem for about 3 years off and on and it is a problem with one of the pins where the tach plugs into the wiring harness (I hope I'm explaining it correctly). The one pin is just short enough that sometimes hitting a bump will cause it to loose contact, then where ever the tach was it will stay there (kind of funny to see the tach at 1200 rpm when you're sitting still) and then another bump somewhere down the line and we will have it working again. One of these days we will be somewhere that someone can replace that contact point/plug, whatever it is.

Thank you for the tip. Now all I have to do is find the Tach feed on the engine. I will check it out tomorrow.
