Heard at Quartzsite that there MAY be a recall of some sort pertaining to the Teleflex Adjustable brake pedal Mechanism..Is there any more news on this or one way or another?

Could you possibly have this confused with the recall of adjustable brake pedal assemblies on certain 2008-2009 Spartan chassis?

Here is the link to an adjustable pedal recall on the NHTSA website. Looks like it applies to models that accommodate air brakes. There is a phone # for Kongsberg (who bought Teleflex's pedal lineup); perhaps they can guide someone to the correct part # used on our coaches. Here is Konsberg's current pedal parts sheet.

Mike, our 2008 has hydraulic brakes I think, not air brakes, so it may not pertain to ours???

I ran across another reference that included hydraulic brakes. I'm sure this devolves to particular part numbers that are in the recall. It may be just thru-floor type parts, or it may also include the hanging type pedals we have in Alpines from model year 2004 forward. Both notices I read seemed to include parts from 2007 and later, so possibly 04-07 model years are prior to the issue anyway. Ultimately we will need to get a read on the particular part #'s per the mfgr and check against those in our rigs.
If I had time right now to chase it down I would. Hopefully someone here can take the lead in contacting Kongsberg & getting the facts.

Kongsberg does have a recall for brake pedals for hydraulic brakes, but it is not clear if that applies to Alpine Coaches, or for what years. Since WRV does not exist, they cannot issue a recall to Alpine Coach owners, as other existing manufacturers do.

However, Foretravel Motor Coach and Tiffin do use hydraulic brakes on some models, and they have issued a recall, as indicated by these NHTSA bulletins:

You might want to check the specific part numbers mentioned in this link to see if they apply to your coach.

The Foretravel & Tiffin recalls affect only 08-10 models so if WRV rigs are involved (I suspect they are given the Tiffin involvement on their Gary Jones' chassis) only 08 & 09 models would be affected. Looks like Kongsberg made some design adjustment after buying the pedal line from Teleflex, which adjustment isn't working out so cleverly.
