Tire pressure monitor
Any suggestions for the best tire pressure monitor system for the coach + toad?

I bought a 4 and 6 tire and repeater from TST a year ago. A couple minor bugs but all work great. Extra monitor nice as a backup. Nice to know tire pressure every day before leavingand never being low.

Bought a TST TPMS that's for the MH and toad, reads all tires. If you have a long MH, i.e. 40' get the repeater also. When testing it just to start twisting off the cap the monitor starts to beep in the MH. Reads presure and tempature on all tires.

Just ordered the TST system---direct from factory rep--think they have a "special" pricing here in Oct. They seem to have a good reputation for both their systems and the after the sale service they provide.

Old Scout, if I may ask, what did they quote you and how many sensors were on the order.

I have the EEZ tire monitor. It is nearly identical to TST, same sensors and display. It was a little cheaper than TST.
Had to get the repeater for my 42 ft Phaeton, I didn't need the repeater on our previous 36 ft Allegro.
I prefer the EEZ and TST because I like the display.

x2 for the EEZ. Bought mine back in '11 and it works great. They are a great group of folks to work with...... Call it the American way, but I like helping the little guy......

Just got the TST last week from the person that answers all the ?? here. Gave me the flow thru air valves for same price. Installed and works fine no problem. Really nice to turn on system and a couple of minutes later see all tire pressures.

I used to be a PressurePro distributor/dealer. Now have the TST 507 system with repeater. The EEZ system was also considered. Depending on the sales it might/might not be cheaper.

HI Jerry. Does your coach have the Silverleaf Monitor? If it does, Silverleaf has an arrangement with Pressure Pro that integrates into it's software with a "black Box",a special cable harness, software upgrade, and sensors on each tire. The whole system works real well. I've had mine for a couple of years. If you are interested call them direct and you can possibly negotiate free installation if you are passing thru Albany,OR. If you want more info give me a call. Matt

I purchased a Tire-Safe Guard several years ago and have been very happy with it. The best feature is the flow thru sensors on the Coach, it makes it very easy to add air should a tire be low. They now have the flow thru sensors with replaceable batteries, as well as the sensors for the tow vehicle with replaceable batteries.

Jerry, Dave brings up the 2 - key features to consider when purchasing a TPMS.
I have the older TST 510 system and fairly happy with it's performance even without a repeater. It notified me twice of a low tire on the toad that had picked up screws in both cases. I've had to send in the sensors at $20 (plus shipping to TST) when they go bad (battery?) and purchased 2 - extra sensors ($100) to make sure I maintain a operational integrity during the process.
The other negative aspect is the fact that I have to remove the sensors to manually check or add air to a given tire. The rear dual tires can be somewhat difficult to reach the stem pointed backwards and may require re-positioning the wheels slightly (PITA!).
If I could do it over again I'd purchase a system with sensors that employ replaceable batteries and flow-through stems.

Oh, another interesting point about TPMS systems that claim their sensors are so light that they will not affect the tire balance. This is basically true on our rigs with such large tires but your toad MUST be balanced with the sensors installed. If not, you'll most certainly get high speed shake &/or vibration in the steering wheel. Learned this one the hard way as usual.
