Transmission Issue

2005 Alpine Coach 36' FDDS - Allison 3000 Transmission
When I let off the accelerator the transmission goes into 4th gear as shown on the display. When I apply the accelerator it goes back to 6th gear. Everything works OK except the downshift to 4th gear when letting off the accelerator.

Sounds like the engine brake is in the ON position.

Sounds like your Jake or exhaust brake is trying to come on.

Turn the engine brake off. When it's on the trams will down shift to 4 the as you decelerate.

DA !! That's it. After 450,000 miles you would think I would know that. I guess I'm getting old. I'm pouring another Scotch. Don't worry, I'm parked.
Thanks to all.

Thanks to all.

I'm convinced that it's "Birthday Poisoning". I'm a frequent victim myself.
